THINGS TO DO WHILST VISITING WYMONDHAM
1. The big and obvious one for me, re promotion of our Hare, is the fact that it is the start of the children s version of the free downloadable trail app we are building and that will go live on June 24th too. ‘Henry the Hare’ will come to life as an animation and lead the children round the same trail as their parents (who will be doing the heritage trail version of the app) on a virtual treasure hunt – collecting Henrys dropped items (eyeglass, map, handkerchief, compass etc) and putting them in their virtual basket on any smart device. The app will ask the children quiz type questions as well to keep it all interesting!
2. The Heritage trail version of this app, brings the historical stories of Wymondham to life, through Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality experiences. This new, free, unique app will enable visitors to the historic market town, to literally, ‘walk through time’. The app, is a pre-set walking tour, and allows users to interact with events from the past, through VR, AR, narrative and audio. There will also be virtual reality headsets at the local museum for users to fully experience the Kett Rebellion story by being transported back to the events of 1549. Other immersive experiences on the trail include, Wymondham’s medieval market place, a reconstruction and deconstruction of Wymondham Abbey, the fire of 1615 and the infamous Stanfield Hall murders.
