Break have reached their target of 50 city hares

Sponsors are snapping up GoGoHares sculptures but there is still time to get involved in the charity trail

The GoGoHares sculptures set to hop into Norfolk in 2018 are being snapped up by sponsors, but there is still time for businesses and other organisations to get involved in the charity art trail.

Children’s charity Break and Wild in Art will be presenting the fundraising trail in Norwich and Norfolk in 2018 to celebrate Break’s 50th anniversary and raise vital funds for its work with young people and families in need.

The 50 city hares that will be dotted around Norwich all now have sponsors, but there are still opportunties for people to sponsor the different moongazer hare sculptures which will be placed across the wider county. Meanwhile Break has also had more than 30 orders for the smaller ‘leaping leveret’ sculptures which are part of the GoGoCreate learning programme for schools and community groups launched earlier this month.

The GoGoHares team said they were overwhelmed and delighted with the amount of people wanting to get involved with the trail which will hit the streets in summer next year.

Martin Green, GoGoHares project leader, said: “We are now in a very good position with all the city hares sponsored, and we welcome returning sponsors and new sponsors, from a diverse range of businesses in Norwich and beyond.
“The last part of the project is the moongazer trail, which will be located all around the beautiful county of Norfolk and consists of at least 15 large moongazer sculptures. We are currently in talks with interested parties for over half of the moongazers, but there are still a few left for sponsorship opportunities.”

The city GoGoHares trail in Norwich and the moongazer GoGoHares trail in the wider county will run from June 24 to September 8 2018.

The GoGoCreate trail of leaping leverets created by local schools and community groups will run from July 2 to September 2 2018.

The 50 city hares, each representing a year in the life of Break, will be auctioned on October 11 to raise funds for Break.

Can you spot all the hares around the county of Norfolk in the summer of 2018?
