GoGoCreate leverets leap into their locations around Norwich

Leverets leap into their locations around Norwich

GoGoCreate is the learning programme for the GoGo project working with schools from nursery up to colleges, from hospital units to a rainbow group and from a football club to a library. This project reaches all areas of Norfolk and has inspired many to take some time to be creative and imaginative with the Hare as the focal point.

The project is brought to the county by Norfolk children’s charity Break and supported by Wild in Art who are passionate about getting as many people involved in these projects in a variety of ways.

Sally-Ann Wilkinson, Director, Wild in Art, added ‘GoGoCreate is particularly exciting as it provides a unique insight into the aspirations, hopes, and dreams of future generations in Norfolk. Everybody involved in the Learning Programme should be very proud of what the leaping leverets have achieved.’

From 2ndJuly the 164 leverets can be seen in various locations around Norwich. Some are grouped in places like intu Chapelfield, The Forum, Castle Mall shopping centre, the Hostry, House of Frazer and John Lewis, and others are around the Norwich Lanes and beyond.

To find out the locations pop along to intu Chapelfield dining terrace to pick up a poster, download the app (gogohares2018 on android or apple) or check on the GoGoHares.co.uk website under each school or organisation.

The GoGoCreate project co-ordinated by Peter Marron has been a great success with so many organisations, clubs and schools getting involved as well as community groups. Peter Marron said ‘I have been working on the project for 18 months and its brilliant to see the sculptures in and around Norwich bringing so much joy to the public. Hearing so many great stories behind the inspiration of each sculpture is truly inspiring and the thought and work that has gone into each one is hopefully a brilliant legacy for the charity Break and the participants’.

The project has been sponsored by Pensthorpe Natural Park and Jo Artherton said ‘We are delighted to be the proud sponsors of the GoGoCreate learning programme, which perfectly matches our core values. One of our key objectives at Pensthorpe is to enhance children’s connection with the natural world; to inspire and encourage the next generation of nature lovers.

We are especially pleased to see that many of the themes chosen by the creators address our core values, from the importance of conservation; being respectful of wildlife and the environment and appreciating the beauty of the outdoors.’

Intu Chapelfield have been a real ambassador for ensuring the project has good visibility in the city and have created a gallery to show off around 35 sculptures in their dining gallery as well as producing a poster for children to pick up whilst stocks last.
